i had a what looked like small pimple at base of right side of nose above lip. its now swollen big only on right side, hurts with fat upper lip?

Infection: Painful swelling in the area where you are describing is most likely infection like Boil/abscess, or it could be something else. The area is also called dangerous area of the face because of the risk of infections reaching the brain through valve-less Veins, Do not try to squeeze or manipulate the swelling.
