Less than an hour: On average, an appendectomy can be performed in 30-45 minutes. This is somewhat dependent on the technique (laparoscopic vs. Open), the degree of inflammation (perforation, abscess, etc.), and patient-factors, such as obesity, prior surgery, etc.
