Im 10 weeks pregnant. dad has radio iodine therapy aftr thyroidectomy. how long should i stay away from him? any other precautions taken for me?

How long ago ?: In first trimester should not take any chance for radiation exposure . Commonly used I-131 is pretty safe , it has half life of about 8 days in wks pretty safe for normal people , with in few days. It also depends how far away are you from patient ( your dad ) close contact is needed , hospital will releases only if public safety is not compromised . Speak to his doctor for precautions
