A member asked:

Saw an orthopedic doctor, got diagnosed with meralgia paresthetica they have suggested a nerve block to be done. should i do it what's the risk?

Not much risk: Meralgia Paresthetica is caused by entrapment or infringement of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (L2-L3), with pain, hyperasthesia, and numbness of the frontal and side of the thigh. A nerve block can be both diagnostic and therapeutic and in good hands poses only minor risks.

Nerve injury: First try to eliminate the cause of nerve irritation. If that fails with a period of time - seek treatment with pain specialist
