Bruising of sternum: The removal of lipoma 24 months ago may have nothing to do with your bruising at this time. Nothing to worry as it is likely to improve in a week with no treatment.

Chronic bruise: A bruise present that long is best explained as similar to a tattoo. With the adjustment perhaps you had some bruising or bleeding into the scar and area. Blood got into part of skin with little blood supply and hemoglobin left behind leaving a discoloration or tattoo
