A member asked:

My blood pressure changes over 20 mg systolic with changing positions. it's not high but should i be concerned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal: Systolic BP will normally drop initially when you first stand up, then normalize over the next 10 to 60 seconds depending on your age and state of hydration. Medication, alcohol, and many other factors can also affect it. Diastolic BP will normally rise when you first stand. HR will quicken. These are all normal, physiologic changes.
