Not necessarily: The platelet count is a very sensitive indicator of bone marrow function and is often wiped out in leukemia. I would expect values much lower were that the case, even very early. (teens) your level is consistent with sampling error and a repeat is standard with such cases.

Probably not serious: Based on the information provided, I would not suppose that there is anything seriously wrong. These kind of minor deviations from the norm are rarely due to a serious health problem such as cancer. Thrombocytopenia (low platelets) are common and rarely an issue at this level. In summary, you have NO reason to be alarmed at this point.

Not leukemia: A platelet count of 112, 000 is low, but not dangerous. At this level there will be no bleeding problems. The MPV is a very troublesome measure...lots of errors. And yours sounds like it is normal...high side of normal. Repeating the test in about 4 weeks would be recommended. Most of these "low" platelet levels will return to normal on their own.
