A member asked:

I had pap smear and the result says benign smear with moderate inflammation. what does it mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mod inflammation: Inflammatory cells are seen on a pap smear when the cervix is inflamed. This is usually a self limited benign process. There is no evidence of dysplasia/malignancy.
