A member asked:

Could anxiety while drawing blood cause high hematocrit of 52.6 and high rbc of 6.36? what can i do to lower the two?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not anxiety: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. If you were dehydrated, that could show high hb and rbc count, but you should discuss it with your doctor. If the test is repeated, make sure you drink enough water that morning.
