Yes and No: It is certainly normal to have slight pain with a ruptured ear drum but we need to no the size of the perforation and what caused it. If the rupture followed infection you need to be seen by an ENT doctor to determine the size of the perforation and the hearing loss and to determine if surgery is required. A small tear, less than 2-3 mm. May heal itself. Keep the ear dry.
