Otitis Media: If the doctor said the ear was bulging he/she diagnosed it as a middle ear infection. This is quite painful and would also cause your hearing to be decreased because of the fluid behind your eardrum. The treatment would generally be an antibiotic. If the pain has not improved in a couple of days we would usually change the antibiotic. Call your doctor and tell them what is happening.
