A member asked:

Can writing on your skin with pen cause lead poisoning?because i've done it for years now and feel fine but if it can cause it of course i'll stop it

You're ok: Ink contains no lead, so you should be ok and don't have to worry about lead poisoning. Many inks are made out of carbon, with added colors. Certain ink can be dangerous if swallowed, but, fortunately, that's not something we typically see! keep writing!

No: Writing on your skin can not cause lead poisoning. It can cause local irritation. Pen ink no longer contains lead, however ink used in inkjet printers may. Never ingest the ink as it does have plenty of chemicals that can make you sick.
