Depends: It depends on the assessment that your doctor made. Propranolol is a beta blocker that can slow your heart rate and has a proven efficacy in combating presentation anxiety. Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine medication that also relieves anxiety via a different mechanism. Benzodiazepines may sometimes cause sedation and tolerance over time.
