Foot pain: Pain and numbness in the foot that is made worse with weight bearing commonly occurs when there is irritation of the s1 nerve root that exits the spine between the lumbar 5 vertebral body and the first sacral segment of the tail bone. There may be weakness when trying to push off on that foot. Especially noticeable when standing on that foot alone. See your neurosurgeon for evaluation.
