A member asked:

What will happen if my toddler has high levels of lead in her system?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many problems: Lead causes many health problems, depending on the blood level. Lead poisoning at low levels may cause anemia, constipation, and mild learning delay. Higher level poisoning may cause kidney damage, high blood pressure, or seizures. Critical lead levels may cause death. Each state has guidelines for treatment of lead poisoning-- consult your doctor and follow the guidelines closely.
