It depends: Hi StaciS188, it depends. often times people require both T4 and T3 support (the two main hormones made by the thyroid), so there are a number of options; armour thyroid is a combo of T4 and T3 and is heavier on the T3, levothyroxine is the prescription form of T4, and liothyronine is the prescription form of T3. T4 lasts 8-12 hours and liothyronine lasts 3 hours.

Thyroid medications : Thyroid medications need adjustments to find appropriate dose which can be different for different people . One medication is not superior to other .
