Recommend ultrasound: Soft tissue abnormalities unless they contain calcium are not seen by x-ray. Ultrasound can characterize cysts, solid tumors, cartilage abnormalities, etc.Utrasound is used more and more in defining soft tissue ligamentous and cartilaginous problems. Sometimes MRI is necessary.
