Depends on why.: Amputation usually happens with trauma which could have other medical complications that would extend the hospital stay. If there are absolutely no other medical conditions associated with the amputation, the patient could be released anywhere from 2-7 days later depending on surgery and wound complications. Staple removal also depends on the specific surgery.
