Need Foley Carheter: Sometimes after surgery it can be difficult to urinate. If someone is unable to urinate, that person needs to have a Foley catheter inserted into the bladder. If you are at home, go to your nearest emergency room and explain the problem and they will place a Foley catheter into the bladder. The catheter should be left for a period of time such as one or two days before removing it to try urinating again without it.
