Possibly.: Some (but not all) oral / oropharyngeal papillomas are caused by hpv. The best way to determine whether or not a specific lesion is hpv mediated is to have it removed and studied in a pathology laboratory. Having it removed will also help to ensure that there are no precancerous (dysplastic) changes or malignancy present. Hope this helps.
