Rusty nail: How much later? You have up to 3 days to get a tetanus vaccination if it was more than 5 years since your last one. For now take a non-prescription pain medication. Puncture wounds like this, especially on the sole of the foot, are typically not sutured, so a short delay (12 hours) is not too bad. The doctor you see may prescribe a few days of an antibiotic to lessen the chance of infection.
