A member asked:

What to do if i have questions about alcohol abuse and denial.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ask them, I suppose: Denial is a common defense mechanism when people are engaging in behaviors that are clearly self-destructive. People with all forms of chemical dependency, including alcohol abuse, will engage in denial, minimalization, rationalization, intellectualization, projection and other defense postures to assure themselves that they are right and the rest of the world is wrong.
