Although some skin color change is unavoidable with sun exposure, you should always apply a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or 30 and reapply frequently or after swimming. Wear hats and avoid the sun during the midday. Exposing unprotected skin to the sun increases risk for skin cancers and sunburns.
