Vomiting: in a child can be caused by many things: acute infections, toxin from food poisoning, bowel obstruction and appendicitis, to name of few. Most common is a viral gastroenteritis which often starts with vomiting and then may progress to acute diarrhea. If vomiting persists more than 12 hours, he should be evaluated by his doctor or urgent care.
