Numb, snip: In my practice, I treat skin tags by injecting numbing medicine (like Novacaine at the dentist) into the base of the tag with a tiny needle. This stings a little. Then I snip off the tag and lightly cauterize the base so it does not bleed. Neither the snipping nor the cauterizing hurts at all.
