Plantar fasciitis: The most common cause of heel pain is plantar fasciitis, inflammation in the area of attachment of the plantar fascia to the heel bone. If this is the case, I suggest you first get some good running shoes (stability type). Perform calf stretches 2-3 times per day, arch supports in shoes. If no improvement see a podiatrist, who see this issue several times a day and can treat it appropriately.
