what to do if i'm falling into a prescription drug abuse addiction?

Dr. Susan Arnoult

Talk to your doctor: Talk to the doctor who prescribes the medication and ask for a plan. The plan should involve tapering off the narcotic medication while addressing your pain with other non-addictive meds and alternative health ways of dealing with pain. Do it now before it gets worse!
