A member asked:

What to do if i'm a living kidney donor , gave my son my kidney, doctor said i need to lose 15 lbs , what is a good diet ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thanks....!: I to have donated a kidney and am overweight. Your remaining kidney I assume has normal function, so you don't need to worry about any thing in particular avoiding in your diet because of only one kidney. SO lose weight the old fashioned way. Drink lots of water (60-80 ounces a day), lots of fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, no simple sugars and modest protein intake. Exercise consistently!
