A member asked:

What to do if i'm 23yrs, female, my esr is 40 mm/hrs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sedimentation rate: ESR=erythrocyte sedimentation rate. This is a very non-specific lab test that has some degree of correlation with inflammatory processes that alter the inter-cellular reactivity between red cells in the blood. If markedly elevated then careful evaluation for the causes should be sought. Moderate elevation may just be transient or relatd to anemia.
