A member asked:

Hyperthyrodism or hypothyrodism, what's the difference?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid hormone: Hi. Hyperthyroidism is too much thyroid hormones (T4 & T3). Hypothyroidism is too little thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormone stimulates metabolism and affects many organ systems. Many of the symptoms of hyper and hypo are opposite: temperature sensation, change in weight, heart rate, period flow, bowel function, and so on. Easy to test for. Good luck!
