How to tell if i am going through hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism?

Blood test: There are simple blood tests to look for either hypo or hyperthyroidism. A TSH level is most sensitive for the diagnosis (low in hyperthyroidism, high in hypothyroidism). A free T4 level is helpful if the TSH is abnormal.
