I wonder if you: are talking about pain relief or getting high. Oxycodone and hydrocodone have pretty much identical effects in producing pain relief, but hydrocodone is about 1/3 the potency of oxycodone, so 5 mg of the latter has the same effect as 7.5 mg of the former. Hydrocodone has more side effects - it releases histamine more, causing itching, flushing, diarrhea.Some people get more of these side effects.
