Multidisciplinary : People with crps can benefit from a multidisciplinary approach including physical therapy, support groups, smoking cessation and then medications like amitriptyline, gabapentin, capsaicin cream and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. Using an opioid on its own for crps seldom helps. If multiple agents aren't helping, then referral to a pain management specialist with crps experience is needed.

See a pain specialis: Complex regional pain syndrome can be tough to treat. Sometimes nerve blocks can help. Just going up on pain pills will not solve the problem long-term. Ask your primary doctor to refer you to an anesthesiologist, a doctor who specializes in pain management. This kind of physician can help manage your pain meds, and see if there is a nerve block that can help you. Good luck!
