Does anyone when you should get a baby checked for insulin antibodies?

Only with diabetes: In a clinical setting, we only check anti-insulin antibodies in patients presenting with diabetes (type 1 or suspected type 1).

Baby ?: Any antibodies present in a baby would more likely represent those transferred from mom during pregnancy. You need to get away from the pre-birth transfer period before they would represent anything made by baby. Diabetic mothers are often concerned about this for their newborn, but you don't inherit diabetes directly.Discuss this at length with the doc.
