Abcess: A HUGE painful red pimple is called an abscess by doctors and it must be drained and usually followed by antibiotics to clear it up. I really urge you not to do this on your own - it can turn into a big disaster if you don't do it right. Until you can get into the doc tomorrow, put hot compresses on the area hourly or soak area in very warm water. But most important, see doc TOMORROW!

Pimple: Wash face w gentle cleanser 2x/day. Try not to pop pimples. Avoid touching the pimple. Consider OTC products (salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide). Retinoids/ comedone extractor can be helpful for black heads. If > mild acne see dermatology.
