AA: The first place to start is with Alcoholics Anonymous. Go to www.aa.org and locate a meeting in your area. Then GO to a meeting and talk to all the alcoholics there who are winning the battle against their addiction. Listen to what they say and do what they suggest. You may need to go to a detox and/or rehab center but start with AA. Good luck!

There are many ways: First and foremost talk to your primary care provider, and s/he can give you some idea of the level of your dependency and next steps to take. You may need detoxification and a rehab program. Intensive outpatient programs are available in many areas, with evidence-based group and individual counseling. There are many self-help groups, AA,SMART Recovery,Women for Sobriety.LifeRing Secular Recovery.
