Variable: Academic centers may be limited. Many are faculty at state universities. MGMA has some averages. FYI 12 years through high school. 4 years usually for college premed. 4 years of medical school. 5-7 years of surgical residency. 1-2 years transplant fellowship. Junior faculty Low salaries most of that time! Then a number of rising years to a peak - like a ball player, then declining.
