Yes: Environmental irritatants and allergens are common causes of conjunctivitis. This includes dust, pollen, molds, vaporized chemicals, smoke and so forth. Removing oneself from the environment is the first step, then frequent artificial tears to remove the irritants. See an ophthalmologist if this is insufficient.
