Itchy eyes: Allergies of eye start with allergan such as pollen, animal dander, foreign object or chemicals and the resulting reaction to them such as swelling and redness, watering, mucous secretion and of course itching. Avoidance, cold compresses, eyed drops for this, and or allergy pills or shots are usually helpful.

Airborne particles: The agents responsible vary from person to person. Some allergic people have more nasal symptoms than others. For allergic conjunctivitis the airborne particles of dust, dander, pollen, mold, etc could all be those that trigger the irritation directly within the sensitive tissues of the inner eyelids. Eye wash or OTC eye antihistamines help.
