Yes: Yes, that is the ligament most commonly injured in a "sprained ankle", so it would essentially be described as a grade 3 sprain which can definitely heal over time most of the time. If it does not, there are surgical Options.

Yes: That ligament is most commonly injured and will heal but I would consider getting a cam walker to keep the ligament in a less stretched position so it may heal in a more anatomic position. If it heals in an elongated position it could lead to ankle instability and prone you to subsequent sprains more easily.
