A member asked:

Docs, could a baby have acid reflux and colic at the same time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: A research definition of colic is 3 or more hours of fussing, at least 3 days a week during the first three months of life.Part of that definition requires that there not be a diagnosable cause of pain.Since reflux can occur without pain, it is likely the 2 will overlap in some kids. However, since some kids with reflux improve on antacid medications, separating the 2 labels is a problem.
