Lets review your que: Hemiplegic migraine is a serious form of migraines with aura. If you have been thoroughly evaluated by a neurologist to rule out more serious causes of the hemiparesis, then genetic testing is indicated. Treatments include medicines we use to treat seizures, such as Valproic acid and calcium channel blockers that we use in treating various cardiac problems such as high blood pressure.
