@ times need to go to er for hemiplegic migraines but docs there assume im a drug seeker bc they've "never heard of this type of migraine"-what to do?

Ask for IV magnesium: Bring to er a printout from wikipedia and ask for intravenous infusion of 1 gram of magnesium sulfate, which can help and will allay fears that you want drugs. If magnesium doesn't help, and you are in pain ask for IV toradol. Despite conventional wisdom, triptans, such as Imitrex or sumatriptan can be tried for hemiplegic migraines if other drugs are ineffective. For prevention verapamil can help.
