Hi docs, can you tell me if surgical incisions to drain a staph infection and intravenous vancomycin are the most effective treatments?

MRSA?: Vancomycin will kill staph but it is regularly used for methicillin resistant staph. MRSA will not die with regular penicillin or Keflex so drainage and special antibiotics are used. Vanco should do just fine if not they may need to use zyvox (linezolid) a newer mrsa drug
