Not for scars: The hyperpigmentation that follows the acut lesions and lasts for a few weeks or months may respond to a hydroquinone skin lightener, though you may disfigure yourself if you're not careful. It's better to get your disease under control. Topical benzoyl peroxide is your best friend, and your physician may be able to add something if it's not sufficient.
