Couples therapy: Relationships are more important than being right, and successful couples learn this. All couples argue and the key is learning to do this in a civil and decent way that does not endanger your relationship or love for one another. If you are wise enough to ask here, the two of you can benefit from guidance -- ask your physician for a referral.

Self control: For many of us, this is easier said than done. All of us bring the lessons we learned at home into our adult relationships. It is difficult for a couple to change their style of managing conflict, but it's certainly possible (although as Dr. Friedlander states, it may require professional assistance). Work on mastering your own anger, avoid blaming, and work on being more flexible. More below
