They are addictive: Nicotine is the roughest of all addictions for those seeking to be free of it. Don't do this to yourself. These things are safer than cigs but the only reason to become involved with them is as an aid to smoking cessation.

Don't know yet: We don't know yet if e cigs cause cancer. What we do know is that the nicotine in them is addictive, and they contain additives that may cause harm. Third hand exposure to e cigs ( residue on furniture , carpets, clothes) is harmful to people who do not smoke the e cig.
