Possibly: The studies are beginning to indicate that e-cigs can cause lung injury. Certain chemicals in the liquid are able to cause lung inflammation. If this inflammation continues over years, damage to the DNA can occur. This represents a similar pathophysiology as what happens with smoking cigarettes.

Probably yes.: Electronic cigarettes, and vaping in general, are so new that we don't know yet. But, think about this: You are heating up a mix of chemicals and inhaling them directly into your lungs. That's not how our lungs were designed to work. Many doctors, myself included, are very concerned these may cause cancer at even higher rates than cigarettes.
