Exam: You should be examined for possible cervical nerve root compression or neurits ( inflammed nerve) of cervical nerves. May other medical conditions can also cause these symtoms- i advise examination.

Thoracic outlet syndrome: Thoracic outlet syndrome is when the nerves to your arm get pinched in the axilla between the ribs and shoulder. It will cause this. Worse with sleeping on side and holding arms over head. A pinched nerve in the neck can do it but should also have neck symptoms and it is worse with head movement. Carpel tunnel (in wrist) gives numbness and pain in hand and occasionally up arm. C pcp or ortho.
