In the Still: Nightmares are defined as “recurrent episodes of awakening from sleep with recall of intensely disturbing dream mentation, usually involving fear or anxiety, but also anger, sadness, disgust, and other dysphoric emotions. They occur in 35-45% of 2-18 year olds. They do not stop at 18 years old however, many adults continue to have these vivid nightmares. You're not alone.

Nightmares: There really is no scientific validity to dream interpretation, but some recurring dreams may be triggered by specific cues--this can happen at the cellular level in the brain.
